The 20 most influential Christians - really?

I found this page via Greg Boyd's blog, who happens to be on the list. What I want to know is, who picked this list ?! Boy would my list look different ! What about yours?

What an odd list.

I tried to think about which of these men or women would be known 100 years for now for having made an impact on theology.

Two men plausibly make the list for institutional purposes. Pope Benedict and Al Mohler. I don't mean any disrespect with respect to their general competence as theologians - but I don't think either man will be remembered for his theological contributions.

In terms of those whose theological scholarship will be noted 100 years from now, that is difficult to guess at. Perhaps none of them will (time remarkably diminishes the fame of many). If I had to pick two theologians from this list, I would pick N.T. Wright and Hans Kung. Nevertheless, I am given pause by the fact that Kung's star seems to be setting while he is still alive.
